Leave the A1 following signs for Richmond, then follow signs for Reeth. Strands Farmhouse Cottage is situated approximately 4 miles from Reeth. Follow the B6270 through Reeth signposted to Kirkby Stephen you will see the Reeth Bakery on your right and the Fire Station on your left. Keep going through the village of Low Row the The Punch Bowl Inn is on your right. Approximately 1.5 miles on the left you will note The Rowleth End Guest House. (On your right are the Rowleth Woods.) Further on you will approach a group of five properties on the left. These are known as Strands. Strands Farmhouse and Cottage are the fourth with gates onto a gravelled drive. If you arrive at Gunnerside Village you have gone too far.
Leave the M6 at junction 38 signposted for Kirkby Stephen (A685). From the direction of Kirkby Stephen take the B6270 and travel approximately 16 miles to Gunnerside. Drive through Gunnerside village and the Strands Farmhouse Cottage can be found approx 1 mile further on the right hand side.
Leave the A1 at Scotch Corner and follow signs to Richmond. When you reach
Richmond, at the roundabout by the Tourist Information Office (on your right)
go right, taking the A6108 signposted to Reeth. After approx 4.5 miles, turn
right on to B6270 towards Reeth; the road is a delightful, but twisting route.
Pass through Grinton, Fremington, Reeth, Healaugh and Feetham. Low Row is
the next village.
Then follow the directions for when you arrive at Low Row
Leave the A1 at Leeming Services-A684 and at the junction turn left onto
A684 towards Bedale. At Bedale turn right and follow the signs for either
Richmond (and then follow above from Richmond) or Leyburn. If travelling through
Leyburn, when you reach the mini roundabout opposite the Bolton Arms, turn
right and then next left, towards Grinton and Reeth. Go up the hill and, in
about 1 mile, go straight across at the crossroads and over the moors, dropping
down into Grinton in Swaledale. Turn left onto the A6108 for Reeth. Continue
on through Fremington, Reeth etc. as above.
Then follow the directions for when you arrive at Low Row
Leave the M6 at Penrith and follow the A66 to Brough, then to Kirkby Stephen.
Then follow signs for Hawes and then Muker.
Then follow the directions for when you arrive at Low Row
From the M6 from the South, leave the M6 at Lancaster and follow the A683
to Ingleton and then Hawes, driving through Hawes town centre. At the eastern
end of Hawes, follow signs for Muker - over the Buttertubs road to Thwaite,
turning right and on through Muker and Gunnerside.
Then follow the directions for when you arrive at Low Row
Leave the road at the East of the Punch Bowl Inn (to the right of the pub as you look at it) and proceed up the narrow, steep hill, signposted to Langthwaite. Cross over the cattle grid and 100 metres on your LEFT along a track you will see two properties. Drive past the first property then park by the second building which is divided into three dwellings. Sandpiper is the end property facing you.
